The Verse:
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." — 1 Peter 5:7
Thoughts:
Sometimes we feel like we have to "clean up" our thoughts before we pray, or that our anxiety is too small for the Creator of the universe to care about. But this verse says to cast all of it. The word "cast" implies a bit of a throw like you're tossing a heavy backpack off your shoulders. He isn't annoyed by your worries; He’s moved by them because He deeply cares about you. You aren't a burden to Him; you're His child.
My Prayer:
Dear God, it’s a relief to know I don’t have to pretend to be okay with You. I’m tossing these worries big and small directly into Your hands. Thank You for caring about the details of my life that no one else sees. Help me feel Your presence close to me today, reminding me that I’m loved and I’m safe. Amen.
